.CPY File Association 2
File created by eCopy Desktop, a program used for scanning, merging, and modifying office documents; contains images, text, and page layout settings; used to store scanned files and send them over email; similar to a .PDF file, but stored in a Nuance Communications proprietary format.
eCopy Desktop versions 9 and later use PDF files instead of CPY files. ECopy Desktop can still save CPY files for opening with older versions.
NOTE: eCopy Desktop is now known as eCopy PaperWorks.

Nuance eCopy PaperWorks
For my company, this product was a perfect marriage of two products, Adobe Acrobat Pro and eCopy Paperworks. Both applications were being used by numerous users and sold separately, it would be over $600 per user. The comparison chart here http://www.nuance.com/ucmprod/groups/imaging/@web-enus/documents/collateral/nc_017982.pdf shows the features of eCopy PDF Pro Office (ePPO) where it surpasses not only eCopy Paperworks but also additional features not included in Acrobat Pro. If there is any caveat to Adobe users, it would be a learning curve of the differences of steps or menu items to do the same procedure. As with any new software, things are going to be placed in different menus, etc. For this reason, I did not factor my personal rating to reflect Adobe environment vs. ePPO environment, but rather (Adobe features + cost) vs. (ePPO + cost). After 4 months of use, it seems to be a great product. It just takes a bit of habit changing going from Adobe to ePPO. For under $200 it does a great job of combining the features of eCopy Paperworks and Adobe Pro in to one
